Student Scholarships

admin December 24th, 2007

Though parents are trying to reduce educational expenses, studying stays very expensive today. Scholarships become an efficient financial aid. Graduate fellowships also serve to pay for the education. Their greatest benefit is the absence of the debt one has to repay. Usually your child is eligible to get a scholarship if he/she is academically brilliant or good at athletics or art.

But the requirements are different, and depending on particular programs some of them are considered to be unusual and even mysterious, for instance, scholarships for left-handed students (search for the scholarship of Frederick and Mary F. Beckley at the Juniata College).

Such unusual scholarships attract many people. Everyone has some skills, talents and interest. Only this and nothing else makes them eligible to obtain the aid. If you are an accordion player, a bird watcher, an amateur radio operator, a blind student, a girl/boy-scout, a cheerleader etc. you may get a particular scholarship. So think what you can and what you like to do. The number of categories is enormous.

Wear a duct tape attire to the duct tape prom and win $2,500 scholarship, your school will get the same sum in the form of a cash prize for the school hosted the prom. Search for the SAMMY and Organ Donation Awards to show your leadership skills and to get money for your education.

Think about such scholarships as some kind of good alternative.
